Begnning on Monday, June 20, 120 students from more than 50 different schools are attending ALCOSAN’s Summer Science programs at the 59-acre water treatment plant on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Two sessions are being held for students in grades four and five, June 20-June 24 and June 27-July 1. One session will include students in grades six, seven and eight, from July 11-15.

These free day camps are extremely popular. Students learn about water treatment, how watersheds function, what they can do to contribute to a clean environment and more. The activities are hands-on, with good visuals.
In addition, new this year is ALCOSAN’s Clean Water Academy program, in which high school students will spend July 18 at ALCOSAN and the following four days participating in the authority’s program on the campus of Duquesne University.
