State Vehicle and Motorcycle Auction
AUG. 23—More than 60 motorcycles will be among an offering of more than 300 vehicles available for public auction on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania, 488 Firehouse Road in Grantville, Dauphin County. The public can begin viewing the vehicles from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19 through Aug. 22. Inventory includes Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha motorcycles as well as Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Volvo and Acura luxury vehicles, former state used Fords, Chevys and Chryslers are also available. Shabbat Meal to Combat Hunger
AUG. 26—Repair The World Pittsburgh will host a Shabbat meal featuring a conversation with James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Solomonov on cooking and combatting hunger, at 7 p.m., at Repair Pittsburgh’s workshop, 6022 Broad St. as a way to engage even more young adults in volunteer service and learning so they are empowered to combat hunger in our community. Health, Safety and Wellness Fair
SEPT. 13—As part of its 50th anniversary, Community College of Allegheny County will host a Health, Safety and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the North Wing of its Boyce Campus, 595 Beatty Rd., Monroeville 15146. The fair is open to the public and will allow attendees to participate in health care screenings, receive health and wellness information and be eligible to win raffle prizes. A variety of health care demonstrations and activities will be held that showcase the more than 25 allied health, nursing, criminal justice and fire science programs offered at CCAC. Market Square Farmers Market
THROUGH OCT. 27—From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., every Thursday. This season will see the addition of 10 new full and part-time vendors including Two Acres Farms, A519 Chocolate and Pittsburgh Fudge Co. Again this year, Just Harvest’s Fresh Access program will allow credit/debit and food stamp EBT cards to be used to purchase fresh produce, meat, dairy and baked goods.
