Get ready, because Idris Elba has a new thriller series on the way to Apple TV+.

According to Deadline, the Luther star will play a hostage negotiator in a new series called Hijacked. The seven-part project is actually a part of the actor’s Green Door Pictures production company’s first-look deal with the Apple TV+ streaming platform. Green Door has other credits including Idris Elba: Fight School, and the Netflix comedy Turn Up Charlie.

This latest series will follow Elba’s character, Sam Nelson, who is a business negotiator forced to save the lives of passengers aboard a hijacked airplane headed towards London.

Elba will also executive produce the project which is being created in partnership 60Forty Films, Idiotlamp Productions, and Green Door.

The actor is having a busy 2022, having served as the host of this year’s FIFA World Cup at the beginning of April and the box office success of the release of his latest film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The outlet also reported Idris is also prepping for a feature-length version of Luther for the BBC and Netflix.
