Fans are showing their support for Mariah Carey after her mother and older sister died on the same day.

On Monday (August 26), Carey revealed that her 63-year-old sister, Alison, and her mother, Patricia, 87, died within hours of each other over the weekend.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” Carey said in a statement, per PEOPLE. “I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

Alison was the singer’s older sister and the middle child of the late Patricia and Alfred Carey, who died in 2002 at 72. The parents also shared 64-year-old son Morgan, Mariah’s older brother.

The cause of death for Mariah’s mother and sister remains unclear.

Tributes from the “Lambs,” Mariah’s fan base, poured in on social media following news of her family members’ deaths.

One fan shared a video of Mariah and her mom, who was an opera singer, sharing the stage together.

“Remembering this beautiful moment with Mariah Carey and her mom, Patricia,” they wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“I can’t even begin to imagine 💔 sending prayers up for @MariahCarey and the family 🙏🏾,” another X user tweeted.

“This is absolutely devastating i hope she is ok,” a third fan sympathized.
