It’s back.
It had to take a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the “Passion Meets The Road” awards ceremony was back in-person, Sept. 15, at Rodef Shalom, Shadyside. The event showcases those making a difference in the field of social work, therapy and other professions.
Dr. Erica Givner, founder of Vision Towards Peace Counseling Services and A Peace of Mind Inc., and Felicia Robinson, co-founder of A Peace of Mind Inc., are the masterminds behind the event, which, in 2024, was its seventh iteration.
Sixty-one individuals were honored, and Dr. Givner was surprised with the Generational Curse Breaker Award by her staff.

LEON FORD
Pittsburgh’s own Leon Ford, who wears many hats including activist, author, motivational speaker and co-founder of The Hear Foundation, gave the keynote address at the event. Kiki Brown of WAMO 107.3 hosted the event. Pittsburgh’s First Lady, Michelle Gainey, also provided words of encouragement. Entertainment was provided by JereAddo Music.
