When the clock struck zero on Sunday night, history was made as Assistant Performance Coach Autumn Lockwood became the first Black female coach to win the Super Bowl.

 

Lockwood was named coach during the 2023 offseason after originally joining the team as a strength and conditioning coach the previous year. She made history in 2023, as the first Black woman coach to make the Super Bowl, where the Eagles lost to the Chiefs, 38-35.

A native of Media, Pa., Lockwood earned a degree in criminal justice from the University of Arizona. She received a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State for sports management.

 

Before joining the Eagles, Lockwood worked at the University of Houston as the director of sports performance in 2021. The following year, she became an assistant director of basketball sports performance at East Tennessee State
