Halle Berry has seemingly addressed recent remarks made by her ex-husband, David Justice, about her being “not very motherly” during their marriage.

On Thursday (August 14), Berry took to Instagram to share photos of herself celebrating her 59th birthday from a tropical vacation with her longtime partner, Van Hunt. The photos included Berry relaxing in a bikini, a birthday cake, and a handwritten card that appeared to be from her two children.

Berry appeared to also use her birthday post to subtly call out Justice for his recent comments about the reason behind their 1997 split.

“Phew…! cooking, cleaning and mothering,” the actress captioned her post.

Berry’s apparent clap back came after Justice’s remarks about their relationship during a recent appearance on Matt Barnes’ “All the Smoke” podcast. The retired MLB player, who was married to Berry from 1993 to 1997, said he was a “Midwest guy” who expected a “traditional” wife at the time.

“She don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem like motherly,” Justice said of what led to their divorce.

“We probably could have made it if I knew about therapy,” he added.

Fans applauded Berry for her subtle response to Justice’s comments.

“Halle got em’ in they feelings all these years later!” one Instagram user commented.

“Lol justice is served,” another person chimed in.

“Great clap back!” a third said.
