Terry Smith helps students connect emerging technology with careers they can envision and pursue. As President and CEO of M-Powerhouse of Greater Pittsburgh, he develops hands-on programs linking education, professional credentials and workforce readiness.

His Robotics Aeronautical Program introduces participants to drones, aerospace engineering, robotics and artificial intelligence. Online FAA Part 107 preparation creates a pathway toward remote pilot certification for youth and adults.

Through the UPMC-sponsored Medical Milestones Program, students explore healthcare careers using clinical simulations, CPR, suturing and engagement with professionals.

A Certified Biomimicry Educator, Smith also brings environmental science and sustainable design into learning. His collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh combines systems science and creative expression to help youth understand violence and develop conflict resolution skills.

Recognized among the New Pittsburgh Courier's 2020 Men of Excellence, Smith builds partnerships that expand students' exposure to science, technology and professional possibilities. His work encourages young people to become creators, problem-solvers and leaders within their schools and communities.
