My first stop was the Kingsley Center in East Liberty where the Community Empowerment Association held their annual Kwanzaa celebration with everyone from the community coming out to participate.

My next stop was the Blakely Center in the Hill District where the Ujima Kwanzaa event was celebrated, was sponsored by Grass (Mbongi), Sankofa Community Empowerment Inc. and the Legacy Arts Project, Inc.

My next stop was Krobar in the Strip District where DJ Ray Love, formerly of WAMO, was on the microphone showing love to the crowd. He is taking a vacation for a while, but we look forward to seeing him again very soon. Keep your head up and stay strong.

My next stop was Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District where folks came out to celebrate the New Year. I have to shout out my brothers Thurston, Chillz and Pee Wee and everyone at Tim’s. It was a great time being there and I’ll see you around.

My next stop was at Bethel AME Church in the Hill District where Ebenezer Baptist Church and Bethel AME Church came together to bring in the New Year. A lot of folks came together to bring in the New Year at this worship service.

My next stop was at Ava Lounge in East Liberty where First Fridays was in full effect with an event called “Brand New.” It was off the chain and everyone had a great time.

My final destination was the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood where Schenley High School held their annual Christmas Party All Alumni Reunion for the community. DJ Sly Jock was on the 1’s and 2’s doing his thing and soul line dancer Roland Ford was giving the crowd steps to dance to.

You know Brotha Ash has a REAL CONNECTION to the community. Send all your information to info@BrothaAshProductions.com and I’ll see you next week OUT AND ABOUT.
