This week I visited Ammons Recreational Center in the Hill District; the 8th Annual Arts in the Park at Point State Park, Downtown; Operation Better Block Inc. in Homewood,; Tim’s Bar in the Hill District; and the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty.

My first stop was at Ammons Recreational Center in the Hill District where Clarence Battle was honored by City Councilman R. Daniel Lavelle, State Representative Jake Wheatley and Antione Small of CIM Investment Management for 40 years as a director at the center.
My next stop was at the 8th Annual Arts in the Park at Point State Park, Downtown. Umoja African Arts Company presented this event and it was great to see everyone come together for a great event.

My next stop was at Operation Better Block Inc. in Homewood where the Junior Green Corps members celebrated their last day working for the summer program with food, fun and fellowship.
My next stop was at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District where my sister Lisa Woodson came in town to kick it with her family and friends. It was great to see you sis and I look forward to seeing you soon.
My final destination was at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty where they held their annual Open Mic event, which is held every Thursday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. This event featured the one and only Leslie “Ezra” Smith on the mic.
