Incredible Grace

Exhibit Opening

The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents the “Incredible Grace: One People, Two Continents, Three Centuries of War” exhibit at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The exhibit by John L. Ford examines the wars that African-Americans and Africans fought during the last three centuries and how African people have supported America with incredible allegiance while they lacked the fullness of liberty for themselves and for their African homeland. Memorial Lecture

The Ida Mary Lewis Memorial Education Fund presents “The Ida Mary Lewis Memorial Lecture: Celebrating a Life of Advocacy and Service” from 2-4 p.m. at the Hill District branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 2177 Centre Ave., Hill District. The lecture will feature University of Pittsburgh Associate Professor Larry Glasco, PhD. He will discuss Pittsburgh’s Civil Rights Movement during the 1940s. Lewis was a librarian at the University of Pittsburgh and a trailblazer in the local educational, historical and cultural arena. Stanley Clarke Trio

MCG Jazz and BNY Mellon presents the Stanley Clarke Trio at 7 p.m. at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester.
