Ethics in Business

SEPT. 25—Duquesne University’s Schools of Business, Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences will host its Ethics in the Business of Science and Healthcare Workshop from 8-11:30 a.m. at Duquesne University’s Power Center Ballroom, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. Paul O’Neill, the 72nd secretary of the U.S. Treasury and former chairman and CEO of Alcoa, will be the keynote speaker. Registration is required and a continental breakfast will be provided. Developing a Strategic Plan

SEPT. 25—Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center will host Developing a Strategic Plan for Growth from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Duquesne University, Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. Essence of Leadership Breakfast

SEPT. 26—Dress for Success Pittsburgh will host its Essence of Leadership Breakfast Series from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Omni William Penn Hotel, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. The theme for the morning will be “Women Need Mentors: How to Find, Create or Be a Mentor.” Erroline Williams, director of Professional Development and Corporate Outreach at Duquesne University’s School of Professional Advancement, will discuss the valuable opportunities of being a mentor, how the right mentor can lead to achieving career success, and more. PowerBreakfast

SEPT. 27—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast Series at 7:30 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The guest speaker will be Mike Schiller of Green Building Alliance (GBA). He will give an update on GBA, and how to make out built environment healthier and higher performing. Leadership Breakfast Series

OCT. 8—Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement will host its “Unlock Your Potential for Leadership” Leadership Series from 8-10 a.m. at the Duquesne University Power Center Ballroom, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. Barbara Schwark will discuss “Neuroscience on the Global Stage: Learning How to Play Nice with Others.” Attendees will gain a greater understanding of how to take a meaningful role in promoting cooperation within a corporate culture that encourages open and honest communications, and more. AACCWP Business Institute

OCT. 8—The Business Institute of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host “How to Do Business With Highmark” from 9-11 a.m. at Highmark, Fifth Avenue Place, 120 Fifth Ave., Downtown. Attendees will be introduced to Highmark’s new procedures on doing business, meeting their sourcing, operations and supplier diversity team members, and the start process of building relationships with key decisions. Registration is requested by Oct. 4 and this is open to chamber members only.
