Women’s Luncheon
NOV. 20—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania and State Farm Insurance will host the “Speed Networking: Connecting Remarkable Women” Luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Omni William Penn, Allegheny Room, 530 William Penn Place, Downtown. There will be a discussion on how women of all ages and career paths can build powerful networks to help achieve personal and professional success. Business Series
NOV. 21—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will host its Business Series from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at the Downtown & Business location, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic will be “Social Media Marketing Made Simple.” Cindy Neky, of Marketing Pathways, will discuss the strategies and best practices for successfully utilizing social media to expand one’s market. Human Resources Overview
NOV. 22—The University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center, and Donnelly-Boland and Associates will host its Human Resources Overview for Small Business Owners Seminar from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh, Mervis Hall, Oakland. Attendees will learn how to avoid common pitfalls related to building and maintaining a productive workforce. The seminar is geared toward small and start-up businesses. First Step Seminar
DEC. 3—Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center will host the “First Step: Business Start-Up Essentials” from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at Duquesne University, Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The seminar will cover topics such as business structure and formation, employee issues, fictitious name registration and more. DEC. 7—O’Friel Consulting will host “You Can Get There From Here!” from 2:30-4 p.m. at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Downtown and Business, 612 Smithfield St., Downtown.
