Hagit Yaso—winner of Israel’s “A Star is Born” singing competition, performed several songs and recently took questions from Urban Pathways Charter School students at the Omni William Penn Hotel.
Although Hagit is still learning English and needs help from a translator, she created and showed a video where she talked about:
•Her parents’ journey from Ethiopia through Sudan and to Israel;
•Being born and living in Sderot, where there has been a constant barrage of rockets from Gaza; and
•Singing and winning Israel’s version of American Idol.
