The cover of Vogue Magazine is the major buzz everywhere. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the cover of the April, 2014 Vogue. They are the first interracial couple, first rap artist, first reality star to be on the cover of Vogue.
I was curious what some of my FB friends thought about the cover. I agreed that they could remain anonymous. So here is what they had to say:
Quite frankly, I don’t understand the fascination and media frenzy regarding those two. They aren’t relevant to our society as a couple or individually. It’s a sad state of affairs if our culture believes we need these two and their opinions.
“Anna Wintuor (Editor in Chief of American Vogue) still trying to shock her Daddy, shame!” “I think they just want publicity their popularity is down.” (who? Vogue or Kimye?)
I don’t care. They are celebrities. It’s their job to draw attention to themselves. If you don’t like it, do what I do- ignore them.”
“I think Kanye is trying to follow in the footsteps of Jay Z, who’s wife is Beyoncé. The public think she’s “THE FINEST”, and Kanye knows he can’t come up “short”. So, he had to find someone who can compete with Beyoncé. Enter Kim Kardashian.
SURPISE! Next, the baby…. DOUBLE SURPRISE! This is just another chapter of the book entitled, “How Kanye Kisses Jay’s Z’s…” Yep… JAY’S Z’s…publicity=$$$$ nuff said.”
“Vogue’s circulation must be down and/or they’ve run out of relevant editorial ideas.”
“Whoever took Vogue seriously in the first place? A fashion magazine is a fashion magazine!”
So there you have it, most people don’t care who is on the cover and feel this is just a way to sell magazines. I say it’s working.
