Leadership Awards Luncheon
MAY 29—The YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host its 32nd Annual Tribute to Women Leadership Awards Luncheon from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. Honorees for the afternoon event include Lisa M. Kuzma, Lucille Prater-Holiday, M.J. Tocci, posthumous, Kimberlee Evert, Shakita Triggs and La’Tasha D. Mayes. The Allerton Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Mary Kay Poppenberg and the mistress of ceremonies will be Peggy Finnegan, of WPXI-TV. Reservations are requested by May 21. Basketball Camp
MAY 30—Jay Latimer will host the Junior Day Camp from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Thelma Lovette YMCA, 2114 Centre Ave., Hill District. The camp is designed for boys ages 9-14 and will focus on the fundamentals of basketball, while providing a fun and positive environment. Registration is required. Gateway to Wellness
MAY 31—Gateway Medical Society will host Gateway to Wellness: Learning to Live Well from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Herberman Conference Center, UPMC Shadyside Hospital Campus, 5150 Centre Ave., Shadyside. There will be an adult and youth program with activities and discussions, along with a continental breakfast, lunch and health screenings. Registration is required. Growing in Peace
MAY 31—Community Empowerment Association will host Growing In Peace: Commemoration to Lives Lost to Violence from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at The Gazebo, corner of Homewood and Frankstown Avenues, in Homewood. Health Fair

JUNE 5—The Northside Leadership Conference will host  “Northside Story Continued!” the 31st Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner at Northside Institutional COGIC CNBE Center, 302 W. North Ave., North Side. The event honors 17 scholarship recipients, 15 Neighborhood Awardees, a Service Provider and six Lifetime Achievement Winners. Reservations are required by June 2. SisStars Gather
JUNE 6—SisStars Gather will host its Empowerment Weekend at the Nuin Center, 5655 Bryant St., East Liberty. The theme is “We Are Our SisStars’ Keepers: Connecting Circles of Women.” This event is for women of all ages and backgrounds, and is an opportunity to gather and unite to inspire, share, strengthen and nurture each other to become the change they want to be. 20th Anniversary Celebration
JUNE 7—Community Empowerment Association will host its 20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner from 5-8 p.m. at its Arts, Culture and Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. This is a celebration to mark 20 years of service to children, families and the African-American Community. There will be a silent auction, live band, a film, the awarding of 20 Community Builder awards and more. Registration is required.
