Brown Bag Lunch Series
    NOV. 19—Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania will host its Brown Bag Lunch Series from 12-1 p.m. at the Volunteers of America of Pa headquarters, 1650 Main St., Pittsburgh. Nate Dunlap of Toastmasters will facilitate an interactive workshop designed to teach how a proper pitch can generate more business. He will give techniques to boost credibility, calmness and confidence, how to create a focused step-by-step pitch, and interaction skills that will make conversations easier.     DEC. 12—Chatham University’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship will host its Leadership Breakfast Series from 8-9:30 a.m. at the James Laughlin Music Center, Woodland Road, Shadyside. The topic will be “Embracing Risks, Filling a Void, Knowing When to Walk Away: the Makings of the Successful Business.” Deb Mortillaro, a partner at Dreadnought Wines, will discuss how to use the difficulties of any industry and turn them into opportunities for profitable business by examining the rules and by filling a need.
