PITTSBURGH (AP) _ A Pittsburgh man has been arrested on charges he critically wounded another man in a shooting on or near a basketball court at a playground with children nearby.
None of the children were hurt, but many ran away scared.
The man allegedly responsible, 19-year-old Khalil Singletary, was arrested early Friday on charges including aggravated assault and attempted homicide.
Court papers weren’t immediately available as Singletary awaited arraignment, but police say witnesses told them the shooting appeared to occur during a basketball game.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Singletary.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released. But police say he was taken to UPMC Mercy hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his torso.
The shooting happened about 7 p.m. Thursday near Grandview Park.
