The program will help African American girls ages 13-17 gain exposure to different careers, health and wellness awareness, the ability to speak up and out, a positive self-image and more. OASIS Tutor Training
NOV. 6—OASIS will host its Intergenerational Tutor Training from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce Building, Suite 525, 411 Seventh Ave., Downtown. Free training will be given to mature adults who are 50 years old or more and would like to commit to tutoring youth for one-hour, per week. All materials, books and supplies will be provided. Meet the Beat Cop

Free Kidney Screening
NOV. 14—The National Kidney Foundation will host a Free Kidney Screening from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Downtown. This is part of the American Diabetes Association’s Bridge to Wellness Expo. The screenings will feature a kidney disease risk factor survey, body mass index and blood pressure measurements, consultation with a doctor, and more. Must be 18 and over. Dating Violence Symposium
NOV. 18—Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence, PA Says NO MORE, Southwest PA Says NO MORE will host “Engaging Youth: Working Across Generations to Prevent Dating Violence” from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Circuit Center, 5 Hot Metal St., South Side. This is the first of a two-part symposium on ending domestic violence and sexual assault. There will be separate sessions for adults, college and high school students. The second part, “Ending Dating Violence: How to be the Generation of Change,” will take place Nov. 19 at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill. Mind, Body & Spirits
NOV. 19—The Ladies Hospital Aid Society will host Mind, Body & Spirits from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Duquesne Club, 325 Sixth Ave., Downtown. The event will include mini cocktails, retail therapy shopping and raffles. This fall luncheon benefits the UPMC Neurological Institute and the University of Pittsburgh Brain Institute.
