On Valentine’s Day love was in the air at Pittsburgh Faison! The school held its 2nd Annual Love Yourself event, to celebrate and empower their fourth and fifth grade female students. “Love Yourself: Faison Black Girls Rock” gave students the opportunity to learn more about self-esteem, self-care and self-love.
The event featured multiple speakers, a Real Talk. Girl Talk panel discussion and a fashion show featuring popular middle school looks. Additionally, while accompanied by a positive adult female, each girl explored a variety of stations on multiple topics including: self-esteem, hair and nails. The event also featured a dessert table and a photo booth to capture the fun.
Staff from prospective middle schools were present to mingle with families as they prepare for next year’s transition.
