The City of Pittsburgh is celebrating “African Americans in Conservation” during Black History Month, with an exhibit that’s currently on display throughout the month of February at the City-County Building, Downtown. The opening ceremony was held, Feb. 5, with remarks from Mayor Bill Peduto’s new chief of staff, Dan Gilman, along with Dr. Jamil Bey. Refreshments were provided by Legacy Café, and the enjoyable music was provided by the Afro American Music Institute. Courier photographer J.L. Martello captured the event in pictures.
