The Allegheny County Department of Health [ACHD] reported 139 COVID-19 infections Tuesday, bringing the total case count since March 14 to 6,574 cases.

The new infections span four weeks: from June 29 through July 20.

ACHD also reported one new fatality and eight additional hospitalizations. To date, there have been 209 deaths and 520 past and present hospitalizations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health [DOH] reported 1,027 new coronavirus infections and 20 deaths Tuesday, bringing the statewide case count to 102,765 and 7,038 deaths.

Allegheny County had the second-most cases announced Tuesday behind Philadelphia County, which reported 168 new infections.

Although each region of the state has seen a significant increase in cases among younger Pennsylvanians – specifically 19 to 24 year olds – southwestern Pennsylvania, which includes Pittsburgh, has seen the greatest spike in this age group: from roughly 5% of cases in April to nearly 21 % so far in July.

County-specific information and a statewide map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.
