CONTROLLER
Catalyst Connection, an established, economic development
organization focused on improving the performance of local manufacturers, is seeking a Controller to join our accounting team that supports our compliance with federal and other government contracting requirements. Your primary
responsibilities will be to direct and coordinate the accounting and subrecipient monitoring functions of Catalyst Connection. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Your background must demonstrate a successful track record of government contract compliance, accurate accounting and reporting experience, experience in building electronic processes and systems to support accounting and reporting, and experience in communicating effectively at all levels. This position will support managing grant initiatives & accounting reporting including:
•Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information to report on performance and the operating soundness and effectiveness of the organization. Perform closing functions including data entry, reconciliations, and review accuracy of recording.
•Proficiency in Accounting and Project Management Software.
•Conduct compliance activities with government contracts, manage reporting on government portals, research and plan government contract requirements and implement systems for compliance, monitoring, and reporting. Conduct subrecipient monitoring in accordance with Uniform Guidance and company policy.
•Coordinate audit and tax functions
•Propose internal control and process improvements, including new software and internet tools and provide education for meeting government compliance.
•Work in a collaborative team environment to meet deliverables and deadlines of grantors.
The ideal candidate will possess a CPA with 6+ years’ experience managing the financial function of a complex multi-grant, multi-discipline business environment, experience in a federal contracts environment (federal uniform guidance).

School Counselor (K-8)
Falk School, a coeducational K-8 laboratory school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is seeking a dynamic, full-time School Counselor for the next academic year, beginning August 2021.
Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience. Falk School, which is a department in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, offers excellent benefits.
The position involves working with colleagues to co-plan and reflect on developing the K-8 wellness program. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative skills and a willingness to support educational research. Strong oral and written communication skills will be required to communicate effectively with children, teachers, and families. The ideal candidate will also serve as a liaison to community agencies, child psychologists/therapists, and a Falk psychological consultant, which at times involves referrals to needed services.
A Master’s Degree in counseling (or related field) and Pennsylvania school counseling certification K-8 are preferred. Elementary/middle school experience is advantageous, and interesting work and/or educational experience in the field of psychology and counseling is beneficial for the position. DBE/DB Program Specialist
Port Authority is seeking a DBE/DB Program Specialist to provide staff support to the DBE/DB Program Manager in the day-to-day
implementation, administration and evaluation of Port Authority’s
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program and Diverse
Business (DB) Program in compliance with all applicable U.S. DOT 49 CFR Part 26, PennDOT, Section 303 of Title 74 and Act 89 requirements and regulations. Attend DBE public outreach functions as a representative of the department and the Authority. Act as a representative of the DBE Program on Authority Procurements.
Essential Functions:
•Assists the DBE/DB Manager with functions as a program/project liaison on DBE/DB program matters with other departments. Works with
various Authority departments to monitor DBE/DB expenditures on both Federal and State funded projects.
•Maintains and manages updates in the DBE Directory of all certified DBEs.
•Assists in the evaluation of all DBE certification applications for verification, including on-site reviews. Prepares recommendation reports resulting from investigation to substantiate DBE certification determination. Travel is required throughout the state for conducting various on-site reviews of applicant firms.
Job requirements include:
•BA Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field from an accredited school.
Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for year basis.
•Minimum of five (5) years related experience.
•Knowledge of diverse business community, public procurement and business management.
•Working knowledge of federal and state laws, government regulations pertaining to contracts, procurement and DBE/DB Programs.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows.
•Professional and effective communication skills.
•Management skills to organize, coordinate, supervise special initiatives and projects.
•Established community contacts and networks.
•Valid PA driver’s license.

Essential Functions:
•Utilizes PeopleSoft accounts payable, procurement and inventory systems to perform the following:
Matches and audit invoices with purchase orders and receivers and settles discrepancies.
Audits and enters coded invoices and settles discrepancies
Sets up new vendors.
•Verifies vouchers with computer printout and corrects errors.
•Registers and distributes invoices for approval.
Job requirements include:
•High school diploma or G.E.D., supplemented by twelve (12) credits in accounting from an accredited college or business school.
•Minimum of two (2) years accounting / finance experience.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Micrsoft Word, Windows and Excel.
•Professional and effective communications skills.
•Ability to use a calculator.
