DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Neighborhood Academy is seeking a development associate to support

fundraising operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Relationship management, grant identification, grant proposal writing, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship associated with foundations
  • Research to identify new sources of funding
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating and managing fundraising relationships with foundation leaders, coordinators and contacts
  • Significant writing experience and proven track record of success in being awarded private grants
  • Produce and manage annual fund direct mail campaigns in conjunction with our mailing house
  • Proven experience in using Raiser’s Edge and report management
  • Enter all gifts into Raiser’s Edge and send donor acknowledgement letters
  • Provide general support for the leadership and Development

  • Maintain the mission and vision of The Neighborhood Academy.

Job Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, or other related fields
  • Minimum three years of experience
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Raiser’s Edge
  • Federal & Pennsylvania Criminal Background & Child Abuse Clearances

TRANSIT AMENITY

SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Port Authority is seeking a Transit

Amenity Support Specialist to

provide and maintain transit stop

information and provide assistance

for other departmental functions.

Responsible for maintaining updated

databases for transit stops, amenities

and park and ride lots. Assists with

bus stop signage maintenance

consisting of conducting field

inspections to ensure that all stop

information, equipment, inventory

and facilities are maintained.

Coordinates various departmental

functions and ensures consistent

application of data and procedures.

Assists with the bus stop consolidation

and shelter replacement programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts field inspections to evaluate

transit stops in accordance with the

Bus Stop and Street Design Guidelines

and makes recommendations for

relocation or removal.

  • Prepares sign crews with written

work orders for installation, removal

and changes to existing/new stop

locations, and maintains database/

spreadsheet tracking work orders.

Verifi es completion and accuracy of

work performed.

  • Assists with reviewing and making

recommendations for shelters, park

and ride and rider information.

Ensures activities comply with

contracts and company policies.

  • Coordinates and submits Pennsylvania

One Call inquiries, when necessary,

prior to issuing work orders in accordance

with PA law.

Job requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • BA/BS Degree in Business Administration

or directly related field from an

accredited school. Directly related

experience may be substituted for

the education on a year-for-year

basis.

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience

in planning, scheduling, transit

schedules, service, customer service,

data collection, and/or analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of

Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Professional and effective communication

skills.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred attributes:

  • Experience in the operations,

scheduling, planning, or customer

service.

  • Knowledge of Port Authority service

areas and routes.

Port Authority is seeking a

Telecommunications Specialist

to process incoming telephone and

radio calls, dispatching the appropriate

police, fire, and emergency medical

services units, as needed. To monitor

activities throughout Port Authority

subway stations ensuring the safety of

employees, property and the general

public.

Essential Functions:

  • Observe monitors throughout the

subway stations ensuring that no

unusual or threatening acts are taking

place against Port Authority

employees, property, and the general

public.

  • Process incoming calls from

the public via emergency and

non-emergency telephone lines.

  • Make response decisions regarding

police, fi re, and emergency medical

services, dispatching appropriate

agency.

  • Follow proper procedures and

techniques in communicating with

transit/local police, emergency

medical services, and fire departments.

  • Answer the emergency patron

phones located in the subway, as

required.

Job requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience

within the emergency response/security

services field.

  • Professional and effective

communication skills.

  • Obtain and maintain CLEAN

(Commonwealth Law Enforcement

Assistance Network) certification

within 90 working days.

  • Must be willing to successfully

complete the course required for

APCO Certification (basic

telecommunications training)

and other courses, as assigned by

supervisor.

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of

Windows.

  • Must be able to work extended

shifts, as needed.

  • This is a Safety-Sensitive position

subject to all testing provisions

under the Drug and Alcohol Policy,

including random drug and alcohol

MATERIAL CONTROLS

SPECIALIST

Port Authority is seeking a Material

Controls Specialist to research

and expedite the ordering of bus

parts and materials especially those

which are unavailable within the

general marketplace from qualified

vendors. Ensure the availability of

parts and materials to support Port

Authority’s bus operations. Coordinate

the testing of new or replacement

parts and materials with Operations

and the Fleet Coordination Section

to determine the reliability and

compatibility with existing bus systems

and equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Approves the stocking of new

items including establishing stock

levels, creation and assignment of

new stock numbers and entry into

the computerized inventory system.

Recommends the deletion of stock

numbers and the removal of obsolete

material.

  • Interchanges original equipment

manufacturer’s and vendors’ part

numbers to eliminate multiple stocking

of identical parts.

  • Searches for qualified vendors

committed to meet parts/material

needs of Port Authority; maintains

vendor communications for problem

resolution.

  • Assist Fleet maintenance personnel

in identifying stock items needed for

bus maintenance.

Job requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree in Business or

Technical/Vocational Certification

in automotive/diesel repair. Fleet

Maintenance experience may be

substituted for the education on a

year-for-year basis.

  • Ability to read/interpret technical

drawings and manuals, understand

technical terminology for engines,

transmissions, electrical components

and systems, and the use of measuring

practices and devices.

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience

in Materials Control/Inventory, Fleet

Maintenance or Automotive/Diesel

Repair

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of

Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Customer focused, well organized,

results oriented and a team player

with a participative management

style.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with

little supervision.

Effective and professional communications

skills.

Preferred attributes:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience

in Materials Control/Inventory, Fleet

Maintenance or Automotive/Diesel

ERP systems.
