MAINTENANCE TRAINING

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking a Administrator – Bus Maintenance Training to develop, implement and coordinate employees training and qualification programs for the maintenance and servicing of Port Authority of Allegheny County d/b/a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT)’s bus fleet and small transit vehicles. Develops and implements applicable supervisory and management

training and identifies and coordinates skill proficiency and leadership development opportunities. Meets with the maintenance managers and supervisors at the field locations to determine training and development needs and then develops and conducts periodic needs analysis to assess future training needs. Assist in the development and oversight of the training program for student bus maintenance employees. Participates in the development of standard operating procedures and safety awareness programs for the maintenance of transit buses, small transit vehicles and all supporting tools and equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Assistant Director of Bus Maintenance Training in the planning and supervision of the daily activities of the Maintenance Technical Trainers at the bus divisions and Main Shop support facility in the development and implementation of employee training programs. Initiates activities related to hiring, promotions, transfers, evaluations, training, other personnel and service records.

• Develops course content and method of presentation. Develops and maintains training manuals and materials. Coordinates the scheduling of classroom on-the-job training components of all bus maintenance training. Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs.

• Meets regularly with the maintenance managers and supervisors at the field locations to determine training and development needs. Develops and conducts periodic needs analysis to assess future training needs. Coordinates the development and implementation of employee training and qualification program.

Job requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED.

• Bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development or related field from an accredited college or university. Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in training and development or related field. No certifications or licenses required.

• Minimum of four (4) year’s supervisory/management experience.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement employee technical training programs.

• Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

• Effective and professional communication skills.

Preferred attributes:

• Bus maintenance experience.

• Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Access.

(Annual Salary $85,200 – $127,800)

TRANSIT AMENITIES

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking a Director of Transit Amenities to be responsible for the strategic direction, training/

development, and daily tasks of the Field Data and Transit Amenities Managers and their staff. Ensures that goals for tasks such as asset inventories, public communications for new projects, and inspection activities are met and that assets are kept in a state of good repair. Assets and programs include: bus stops, bus shelters, park and ride facilities, layover facilities, paper timetables, and wayfinding signage.

Essential Functions:

• Directs activities of the Manager of Transit Amenities, Manager of Field Data and the Transit Amenities Designer and their staff. Provides direction on Goals and Objectives and meets regularly with staff to deliver feedback on achievement of goals to advance the mission of Port Authority. Responsible for the training/development and guidance for employee development to

increase work process efficiencies.

• Responsible for planning and

development of transit amenity

programs and the public communications

related to these programs. Ensures that assets are inventoried on a regular basis to maintain the system’s state of good repair and safety.

Reviews recommendations for implementation of changes to the placement of bus stops. Works with

the Planning and Service Development

Department, Engineering Departments, contractors, and others as necessary to ensure changes are designed and implemented appropriately.

• Ensures that communications between the Transit Amenity group and Road Operations/Special Services group are well coordinated and

sufficient to ensure as seamless a passenger experience as possible with regards to temporary and long-term

detours as they relate to transit stops.

Job requirements include:

• BA/BS Degree in Business

Administration, Transportation, Planning or directly related field from an accredited school. Directly related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

• Minimum of eight (8) years of

progressively responsible experience

in Transportation Planning for mass transit, scheduling, service planning, customer service, asset management, management, or related field. Experience may be substituted by advanced education on a year for year basis.

• Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.

• Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows and Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Customer focused, well organized, and results oriented.

• Professional and effective

communication skills.

• Valid PA driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Preferred attributes:

• Knowledge of Port Authority

transit system and Allegheny County.

• Asset management experience.

• Union staff management experience.

• Project Management experience.

(Annual Salary $105,200 – $157,800)
