:10–A tip of the cap and one big atta-boy to longtime friend Vince Lackner, he of the Lackner Group, original Connie Hawkins League baller and Hall of Famer, and member of the famed Harvard Crimson hoop team…which, by the way, propelled him to several years of European pro basketball. Took his skill set to the 2026 Ultimate Long Drive (ULD) competition at Wood Ridge Farms in Lovingston, Va., where he finished fourth in the world in the Super Fossil Division (75+). His best drive in round one ended up one yard short of the winning drive of 236 yards. Congratulations Vince. We’ll take your 235 yards…it’s Pittsburgh Proud.
:09–Speaking of the longest yard as it relates to the game of football, needless to say there’s enough bad stuff to talk about on the Steelers loss to the Cleveland Browns and I will get to it. Do you mean to tell me that a professional football team in 2026 can’t advance the football 20 yards with 10 seconds on the clock?! You would be wrong if you think not. Lord knows I’ve seen Tom Brady slice up 20 yards on three down-and-outs and then leave two seconds to kick the field goal. C’mon, new Coach Mike “I am an offensive guru” McCarthy!
:08–With the Steeler game still disrupting my chances of not only taking some digits out of one Myron Brown’s back pocket (yep, that Myron Brown…he of the Slippery Rock, Minnesota Timberwolves, European League, Jump with MJ any day of week legend!), here’s another question for ya…Yes, you want to get Darnell “Mt. Washington” in the game more and often. But not three throws in a row. Fake it to him on the last throw and then go back to D.K. Metcalf. After all, he is your money man!

:07–Oh, what’s this all about? I called for your Steelers to win 12 games this year. Now it looks like I am going to have to find a dollar somewhere to pay Myron if your boys don’t get their act together. Don’t laugh. This economy is killing me, too!
:06–Last word on this I think/hope. Joey Porter’s gone; let the conversation go with him. He clearly didn’t want to be here! A wise man once said, “I want volunteers, not hostages,” quote “Coach Mike T” forever more.
:05–Oh, by the way, I didn’t get this in last week, but yeah, “Coach Prime” aka Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders, you did face some deserved public scrutiny and accusations of hypocrisy for supporting THE PROTECT COLLEGE SPORTS ACT despite his own career moves and his son’s lucrative NIL deals. C’mon, man…or should I say c’mon, AFLAC!!!
:04–Speaking of Shedeur Sanders, due to no fault of his own, he probably won’t play QB for the Browns anytime soon. Deshaun “I am so sorry” Watson has risen from the dead. And not too shabby, I might add. Not a fan of the man, but his game is back!
:03–Here’s your update on the diamond. Yankees fall behind the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0, Chicago White Sox lead the Cleveland Guardians 2-0, the L.A. Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are tied 1-1, the Milwaukee Brewers lead the Padres 2-0.
:02–This just in, hard to believe, but the 2026-27 NBA regular season starts Oct. 20, 2026. And I am telling you right now, the New York Knicks will not repeat. That being said, my Lakers aren’t winning any gold, either.
:01–Don’t forget the Champions Car Cruise and Show, the last great run this summer. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at the Auto Zone superstore, Monroeville. The fun starts at 2 p.m. and goes to 7 p.m…DJ Shock, food and drinks on site, 50/50, and meet Miss Pittsburgh Ikea Sade. 412-902-5761 for info.
:00-00–Double Overtime…Who you gonna go see if they’re playing the same night, James Brown or Michael Jackson???
GAME OVER.
