This week I visited the Zenith Lounge in the Strip, The Improv in Homestead, Tonic Bar and Grill in Downtown Pittsburgh, Earl the Pearl’s Bar in Homewood, the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood, Ace and Deuces Lounge in the Hill District, Kenny’s Place in the Hill District and CJ’s in the Strip District. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Jets and WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!! I went to celebrations all over the city to celebrate the victory. Everyone was dressed in black and gold and partyin’ all night long. Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is!!! Black and Yellow baby!!! Diehard Steeler fans celebratin’ the win over the Jets at the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood.

WoodsonFor New Pittsburgh Courier This week I visited the Greater Pittsburgh Homewood Coliseum in Homewood, the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, Montage in Wilkinsburg and the Red Onion in the Hill District. My first stop was at the Greater Pittsburgh Homewood Coliseum where the Allegheny Old-timers held their annual Basketball Cabaret. Everyone came out to reunite, eat great food and have a good time. This week I visited the Montage in Wilkinsburg, Platinum Night Club in the Strip District, The Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, Ace and Deuces Lounge in the Hill District, and the McKinney residence in Verona, PA. My first stop was at the Montage in Wilkinsburg where Dena Wade-Beard celebrated her 50th with family and friends in a classy atmosphere with all of the trimmings. Marvin Prentice of the Hill House and Police Chief Nate Harper stopped to celebrate Dena’s birthday with her at the Montage in Wilkinsburg.
This week I visited the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood, The August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh, The Greater Pittsburgh Homewood Coliseum in Homewood and Ace and Deuces Lounge in the Hill District. My first stop was at the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood where the Galaxy held an event called Steeler Style @ The Galaxy Playoff Football. This event had everything for the avid Steeler fan, including a tailgate party with ribs, burgers, hot dogs, a free buffet at halftime and more. The Galaxy is the place to be if you want to have a great time. This week I visited the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty, St. Benedict The Moor School in the Hill District, The Shadow Lounge in East Liberty and the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood. My first stop was at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in East Liberty where Lowacit Entertainment and Mark C. Productions presented the First Annual Stop the Violence Holiday Talent Show featuring local talent from around the city of Pittsburgh. Lena and Missy at the annual anniversary celebration held St. Benedict the Moor school in the Hill District.
This week I visited the Ava Lounge in East Liberty, Babylon in the Strip District, Mosaic in the Strip District, Whim Pittsburgh in Station Square, The Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center in Homewood and the Cabaret in Homewood. My first stop was at the Ava Lounge in East Liberty where DJ Stephan was on the 1’s and 2’s at the Pre-Interval Jazz Happy Hour with DJ Stephan and Megan Y. This happy hour is every Monday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each week where you can enjoy the jazzy, pre-Interval sounds of DJ Stephan from the New Pittsburgh Courier with Megan Yahner serving the cocktails. Hangin’ out at Mosaic in the Strip District during Thanksgiving weekend.
This week I visited the Greater Pittsburgh Homewood Coliseum where Midnight Productions brought three of the hip-hop legends to the ‘Burgh. The event was called “The Ole School Cabaret”. Hip-hop Chubb Rock legend did his thing on stage for his fans. National recording hip-hop artist Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick and Chubb Rock came to Pittsburgh and performed all of their hits for over 1,000 fans at the Greater Pittsburgh Homewood Coliseum.
This week I visited Petra International Ministries Church in East Hills, Platinum Nightclub in the Strip District, Galaxy Lounge in Homewood and the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty. My first stop was at Petra International Ministries Church in East Hills where House of Manna Media presented an event called Day of Discipleship featuring Unashamed Tour 2010 “The Movement.” This event was unique and original with hip-hop and gospel coming together for a great concert and worship. The one and only Bum with supermodel actress Meagan Good at the grand opening of Platinum Nightclub in the Strip District.
This week I visited the Galaxy Night Club in Homewood, CJ’s in the Strip District, The August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh, The Red Onion in the Hill District, Houlihan’s Restaurant in Station Square and Executive Cigars, LLC on the North Side. My first stop was at the Galaxy Night Club in Homewood where Big D and his staff held an event for the customers to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers game on wide screen television. Everyone was dressed on black and gold, ate good food and had a great time.
This week I visited St. Lawrence O’Toole in Garfield, The Red Onion in the Hill District, CJ’s in the Strip District, Ava Lounge in East Liberty, Ace and Deuces in the Hill District and Mitchell’s Bar in Oakland. My first stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District where they held their annual Halloween Party and everyone was dressed up in costumes including DJ Nick Nice on the 1’s and 2’s spinning the hits.
