Out & About at the August Wilson Center

This week I visited the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh, Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District, Capri’s Bar and Restaurante in East Liberty, CJ’s in the Strip District and St. Lawrence O’Toole’s in Garfield.

My first stop was at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown, Pittsburgh where they held the grand opening. It was a great affair where celebrities from all over came out to show love and pay tribute to the one and only August Wilson. Young and old alike came to the 3D party that was held at the new center featuring DJ Nate Da Phat Barber on the 1’s and 2’s.

My next stop was Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District where people from all over the country came to get their party on with the folks in Pittsburgh. A lot of people came to Pittsburgh for the G-20 Summit to protest about the inequality of jobs in the daytime and at night they got their party on and had a great time.

My next stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District where DJ Nick Nice was on the 1’s and 2’s giving the crowd a workout on the dance floor. The place was packed and the line was long to get in. You should definitely show up early to CJ’s on a Friday night, so you can get your dance and party on.

My next was at St. Lawrence O’Toole in Garfield where folks from the community came to party and relax with good music. There was food, fun and fellowship at this event and it was a very positive atmosphere.

My final destination was at Capri’s Bar and Restaurante in East Liberty where Tee Jay from www.ItsTeeJay.com was on the 1’s and 2’s. This week all the ladies came out to show and prove on the dance floor. This is a new spot worth checking out, so don’t miss out.
