Out & About at the Willie Stargell Awards

This week I visited the Montage in Point Breeze, Chocolate City in Homewood, Billy’s Gold Door in Homewood, Ava Lounge in East Liberty, the magnificent LaMont Restaurant in Mt. Washington, CJ’s in the Strip District, The Black Beauty Lounge in the Hill and the Grand Room in Homewood.

My first stop was at the magnificent LaMont Restaurant in Mt. Washington where Champion Enterprises held an event called The 34th Annual Willie “Pops” Stargell Memorial honoring Mel Blount, B.B. Flenory, Sam “Bam” Clancy and others. Bill Neal, CEO of Champion Enterprises, always does something spectacular for the community. In another part of the restaurant my cousins Terrance and Gabriel Rodgers held their wedding reception. Congratulations to both of you and may you stay together forever.

My next stop was at Chocolate City in Homewood, formerly April’s on the Avenue, where they held their grand opening for the public. DJ Matt G was on the 1’s and 2’s and the dance floor was popping.

My next stop was at the Montage in Point Breeze where Tricky Bailey held his birthday celebration with everyone from the neighborhood. If you’ve never been to the Montage, you must check this place out because it is something different for the Pittsburgh region. I have to shout out Nadine for letting me know about this event.

My next stop was at the Grand Room in Homewood where April celebrated her birthday with family and friends with class and style. This event featured DJ Sly Jock on the 1’s and 2’s and everyone got their party and drink on.

My next stop was at the Black Beauty Lounge where birthday man Chriss had a great celebration. I have to shout out my girl Tika who represented at the party and held it down.
