Celebrating Black History
The PNC Legacy Project presents its “Celebrating Black History Month” Exhibit from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the 600 Liberty Ave., Downtown. The exhibit honors the contributions of celebrated and everyday Pittsburghers, along with documenting the city’s transformation over the past 200 years. The exhibit will include touch screen timelines, oral histories; touch screen panels displaying historic images and more. The exhibit is free and open daily to the public. Jazz Jam
CJ’s Restaurant & Lounge presents “The Roger Humphries & RH Factor Jazz Jam Session” at 8 p.m. at 2901-2911 Penn Ave., Strip District. There will be live jazz and fun every Thursday night. Cave Canem Workshop Deadline
The Cave Canem Foundation presents the registration deadline for the Cave Canem Workshop Poetry Workshop to be held Feb. 12-April 16 at the City of Asylum/Pittsburgh, 324 Sampsonia Way, North Side. Participants will be encouraged to write poems that push into the unknown. There will be a public reading of poetry on April 23 at the Hill House Association Center. The New York based African Dance Theatre bridges the gap between African and African-American culture through their exciting, colorful and energetic performances.
