Absalom Jones Day
FEB. 1—The Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh will host the annual Absalom Jones Day Celebration from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Trinity Cathedral, 328 Sixth Ave., Downtown. This is a celebration of the life and ministry of Jones, the first Black to be ordained in the Episcopal church. The theme is “Celebrating Diversity in New Ways: Inside the Church and Out.” The guest preacher will be Rev. Dr. Canon Sandye A. Wilson of St. Andrews and Holy Communion Church in South Orange, NJ. The day will include a Missa Luba African Mass, several workshops, a panel discussion and more. Registration is requested by Jan. 27. Financial Peace Orientation
FEB. 1—The Dollars and Sense Ministry of Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty, will host its Financial Peace University Orientation at 10 a.m.  Attendees will learn how to make a budget, how to get out of debt, how to communicate with one’s spouse about the finances, how to invest with confidence and more. There is an investment of $130 requested; assistance is available for qualifying individuals. The actual class will begin Feb. 15. Healing Stream Prayer
FEB. 2—Bethlehem Baptist Church, 716 Walnut St., McKeesport, will host the Healing Stream Prayer Service. The first Sunday of each month, following the morning worship service, step into the healing stream and get refreshed, renewed and restored. Prayer Shut In
FEB. 7—My Sister’s Keeper will host its Women’s Ministry Prayer Shut-In from 11 p.m.-3 a.m. at Word Missionary Baptist Church, 134 8th St., McKeesport. Attendees are asked to wear comfty clothes, and to bring a pillow, blanket and bible. Women are invited to lay at the alter and share with their sisters in Christ. Valentine’s Gospel Jazz

MARCH 14—Traveling Diva’s & Gent’s will host a One Day Trip to see the live stage play “Moses” in Lancaster, Pa. Guests will depart from Edgewood Town Center at 7:30 a.m. There will be a stop for lunch. The cost is $150 and reservations and monies are due by Feb. 15. APRIL 3—Morning Star Baptist Church, 812 Oak St., West Mifflin, will host a trip to see the play “Moses” at the Sight & Sound Theater, 300 Hartman Bridge Rd., Lancaster, Pa. This is a live stage play. Guests will depart from the church at 6 a.m. and will return at approximately 9 p.m. The cost is $140, which includes transportation, the show and lunch at the Shady Maple Smorgasboard. Women’s Ministry
ONGOING—Rev. Lauran Webb of Breakthrough Ministries will host a Women’s Ministry from 6-8 p.m. at the Hill House Association, 1835 Centre Ave., Hill District.
