A suburban Atlanta man was arrested while trying to board an international flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after Conyers (Ga.) investigators discovered a sophisticated and elaborate weed-growing business in his home worth over $1 million.
Randy Le, 48, who owns a home in the north suburb of Norcross, actually bought a home in Conyers, another suburb on the far east side outside of Atlanta ostensibly with the purpose of growing marijuana, which is still illegal in Georgia.
Le was en route to Vietnam when police nabbed him. This was after authorities discovered an impressive array of marijuana and an assortment of lighting equipment in his basement. After being tipped off by a neighbor, who was convinced something illegal was going on next door at Le’s house, police procured a search warrant and found 85 marijuana plants in multiple rooms throughout the basement and illegally obtained lights,
“Once inside the residence at 1720 Elizabeth Court, investigators discovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement. The basement was divided into multiple rooms where marijuana was actively being or had previously been cultivated,” the RCSO press release states.
