Should the Rendezvous Phase III Bar in Homewood be closed as a nuisance bar after the second shooting in one year?
A lot of people on Social Media, and at other social gatherings including the local bars are saying they should.
I say absolutely, without a doubt, emphatically, in all fairness, no, no, no.
Why?
Well it’s like shutting down a business after it has been robbed. Why punish the business. And believe it or not, bars are businesses just like any other business. They serve alcohol and give people a chance to get out of the house and socialize with others.
Sure there are some people against alcohol, which makes them against bars. I have never been crazy about bars as entertainment but that’s my preference, I don’t blame or degrade others who do.
Some say shut them down for a week, which is my understanding they have been.
