Shortly after the record, Latia went to put her musical gift to the test, when she tried out for the hit television series, “American Idol” and became a competing contestant.
“American Idol helped me to become more confident in my stage presence. Making it as far as I did, I learned first hand what it felt like to be a star, how to perform in front of a camera and audience. I appreciate the experience for everything I learned and the amazing people I met,” she said.
Latia not only sings, butshe also writes all of her music. The multifaceted singer has been receiving a lot of buzz throughout the city and is ready to take the city by storm.
“I’ve become confident enough to write from the heart so my songs are usually about my experiences; past, present, or someone’s close to me that I may have given advice on,” she said.
While writing she is also working to establish her own label, EFB (Everything for Brub),  which she owns with her sister, Latasha Marie. The label name is in memory of Latia’s brother, Steven “Brub” Lee Jr., whom she refers to as her No. 1 fan and was tragically gunned down.
