Director of Technology Infrastructure
Port Authority is seeking a Director of Technology Infrastructure to be the leader of the IT- Infrastructure Department. The Director of Technology Infrastructure is responsible for the growth and management of the core network, systems and server infrastructure, and desktop support activities of Port Authority information systems as the Infrastructure services enhance the strategic objectives of the agency in service to our customers. Primary focus is on the enhancement and continuous operations of data center services, networks, remote and digital desktop systems, equipment purchasing, and design and implementation of future services.
This position is a unique role in leading and working hands-on with an array of team managers and members advancing the services of the network, systems, and related technology equipment, for the Agency and customers. This role works extensively with other areas of the agency in coordination of projects and activities.
Essential Functions:
•Coordination and oversight of technology infrastructure for agency use including, but not limited to: network topology, servers and data centers, disaster recovery, telecommunications and internet connectivity, physical security infrastructure (cameras, door access), related physical technology infrastructure (timeclocks, computers, devices)
•Ensure secure networks and systems with regard to Information Security aspects as related to network, server, data center and related infrastructure components, especially as related to PCI compliance, monitoring, response and recovery.
•In leading the Infrastructure team, participates in the analysis, research, scope development, evaluation and development of enterprise long range strategic plans and operating plans to insure that the infrastructure services are consistent with long term business objectives. Identifies implementation risks; analyzes potential impact to enterprise and scheduled objectives; develops, submits and maintains enterprise critical path schedules; and initiates action to correct any deviations from this schedule.
Job requirements include:
•BS Degree in Computer Science or directly related field from an accredited school. Related experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
•Network administration, server or systems administration experience.
•Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows platform and various server architecture (windows/linux/etc).
•Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in leadership of an infrastructure team including multiple aspects of server, network, and systems support.
•Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hands-on of either network administration, server or systems administration, data center coordination.
•Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows.
Preferred attributes:
•Defined leadership qualities necessary to lead a forward-momentum technology environment, including organizational management and team development.
•Networking or systems certification(s) such as MCSE, VMWare, Cisco networking, or similar.
•Telecommunications experience.
•Experience with both cloud and on-premise data and application services.

•Oversee IT Service Management functions, including the full lifecycle of incident request and response, in ensuring that customers receive timely response and appropriate levels of service of a 24/7 operation. Coordinate escalation and response mechanisms within the various departments of the IT Division for Service Management.
•Lead the audio-visual support and design for on-site spaces (conference rooms, training rooms) as well as online functions, such as webinars.
•In leading the Customer Engagement team, participates in the analysis, research, scope development, evaluation and development of enterprise long range strategic plans and operating plans to ensure that services are consistent with long term business objectives.
