Enjoy a summer sweet treat at Happy Day Dessert Factory

Galen Moorer has always had a sweet tooth.

“At eight years old, I started working and learning the ins and outs of Italian ice cream. I decided to do my own thing,” said Moorer. In March 2020, he launched Happy Day Dessert Factory, which serves homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt, and water ice, among other treats. “My grandma was really the inspiration for the name. She’s always singing the song “Oh Happy Day.”

A commitment to freshness sets Happy Day Dessert Factory apart.

“We make our ice cream every day, so it’s fresh. We make the waffle cones, cookies, funnel cakes, pretzels, just pretty much anything. It’s really just like a carnival ice cream shop.”

This summer, they introduced some new flavors to their menu like key lime cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, and pina colada. They even have options for all dietary needs.

“We have an almond milk soft serve that vegan and lactose intolerant people seem to love. We have something for everybody.”

Happy Day Dessert Factory also provides catering water ice, and ice cream upon request. A significant reason behind their success is that they are family owned and operated.

“It’s easy for me because I can always tell them what to do, and I can trust my family. It’s easy for me to just go in every day and know I can always expect the same thing from them every day,” said Moorer.

Coming up, Happy Day Dessert Factory is hosting a back-to-school drive.

“People can bring in supplies: notebooks, pencils, book bags, whatever the kids may need. You get a free ice cream cone or a free water ice.”

Additionally, Happy Day Dessert Factory will be mobile soon.

“We are working on an ice cream truck right now so that we can drive around the city and make it easier to sell the ice cream. The ice cream truck should be ready by the end of this summer.”
