Public notice is hereby given that the Civil Service Commission of the Township of Wilkins will be conducting an examination for a full-time police officer. 5. Verification that applicant has been certified to act immediately as an active police officer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania based upon successful completion at the time of application of what is commonly referred to as Act 120 training.

7. Verification of high school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED).

9. The starting salary for a full-time police officer in Wilkins Township is currently set at $77,391 for the first year, increasing over five years to $103,189. Police Officers with fulltime outside agency experience will move laterally into the wage scale.

10. Applicants who are finalists for the Eligibility List must undergo physical and psychological testing, background and credit investigation.

11. Successful applicants must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

Essential Functions:

• Monitors and ensures the proper utilization of the Disruption component of agency CAD system. Supports Road Operations along with the Special Services, Events & Detours team and Customer Service, by installing or establishing detours in the Disruption Management System of PRT’s CAD system.

• Develops and implements On-Time Performance (OTP) and Reliability strategies to meet the goals of the Strategic and Tactical Plan.

• Monitors Agency CAD systems for transportation issues and takes appropriate action as needed.

Job requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of five (5) years of

experience as a Bus/LRV Operator; or two (2) years of experience in one of the following positions within

Bus or Road Operations: Bus Route Foreman; Bus Instructor; Traffic Dispatcher, Movement Director.

• Willingness and ability to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.

• Effective and professional

communication skills.

• Thorough knowledge of Pittsburgh Regional Transit service area.
