On Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic returns to Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio, a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh, Pa. This year’s game features Albany State University vs. Johnson C. Smith University. Albany State plays in NCAA Division II’s SIAC, and Johnson C. Smith University plays in NCAA Division II’s CIAA.
Kickoff is 4 p.m. ET, and it can be seen on the NFL Network. The New Pittsburgh Courier is in Canton for the game, and will have wall-to-wall coverage on its social media platforms and in a future print edition. The year 2026 marks the Courier’s fifth consecutive year the publication has traveled to Canton to cover the big HBCU game and all of its surrounding pageantry.
