Out & About with Brotha Ash at Chocolate City

This week I visited Billy’s Gold in Homewood, Questions Night Club in the Strip District, Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District, Chocolate City in Homewood, Kenny’s Place in the Hill District and Olive or Twist in Downtown Pittsburgh. My first stop was Billy’s Gold in Homewood where the grown folks come to hang out and get their party and drink on. This is a 30 and over establishment, so no young bucks allowed. Birthday celebrations took place at Chocolate City in Homewood and the place was packed with people.

Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards puts city artists, businesses on the map

Energy was high among those nominated for Dwayne Muhammad’s 4th Annual Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards Feb. 21 at the Hilton Hotel Grandroom. Jasiri X was up for the most awards with seven nominations, winning three. JASIRI X with models holding his three awards. The awards show was originally scheduled for Feb. 6, but because of the major snowstorm that devastated the east coast, it had to be rescheduled. “This is the fourth time that the city of Pittsburgh has come out to show support for the Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards because it’s the biggest music industry event in the city,” said Muhammad. “This event is held to recognize artists, producers, businesses, etc. and the energy is always high.”

This week I was at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh, Olive or Twist in Downtown Pittsburgh, CJ’s in the Strip District and Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District. My first stop was at Tim’s Lounge in the Hill District where everybody knows your name. This is the place to be if you want to get your drink and party on. My second stop was at the Olive or Twist in Downtown, Pittsburgh where Steelers safety Ryan Mundy, a former Woodland Hills, University of Michigan and West Virginia University standout, celebrated his birthday with friends and family. Emmy Award winner Emmai Alaquiva of Ya Momz House Recording Studios and Actor Malik Yoba at the Highmark Auditorium in Downtown Pittsburgh.

This week I visited Ingram Hall in North Versailles, Questions Night Club in the Strip District, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, The Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, and Matrix in Station Square. My first stop was at Matrix in Station Square where everyone came out to the closing of this great night club. It was in full effect with all the ladies and the music was off the chain in three rooms featuring the best dee jays in the 'Burgh. Shari Thomas and the crew at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty for her Valentine’s Day event.

This week I visited Billy’s Gold Door in Homewood, the Miller Street Church of God in Christ in the Hill District, Matrix in Station Square, CJ’s in the Strip District, Shadow Lounge in East Liberty and the Red Onion in the Hill District. My first stop was at Billy’s Gold Door where everyone came out to hear great music and enjoy delicious food. I have to shout out Webb, Eric and Pooder for always holding it down at the Gold Door. T. Brown and the ladies at Pharoah’s Night Club in the Strip District.

Out & About with Paradise Gray and X-Clan

This week I visited the new hot spot called FATE in the Strip District, The August Wilson Center in Downtown Pittsburgh, St. Lawrence O’Toole in Garfield, Kelly’s in East Liberty and the Red Onion in the Hill District. My first stop was at the St. Lawrence O’ Toole where John “Ringo” Saunders celebrated 16 years clean and sober and there was a big celebration in his honor. Congratulations to you and keep up the great work. The one and only hip-hop legends X-CLAN featuring Paradise “The Arkichect” Gray and Grand Verbalizer.

Out & About at Chocolate City

This week I visited the Hard Rock Café on the South Side of Pittsburgh, the Rex Theatre on the South Side, Matrix in Station Square, CJ’s in the Strip District, Chocolate City in Homewood, Corner Café on the South Side, Ava Lounge in East Liberty and Xentil in Greentree. My first stop was at the Hard Rock Café where Gene Stovall had an event called “Earth Wind and Fire vs. the Dave Matthews Band.” It featured Gene Stovall at his best, singing all the hits from the legendary R&B group, Earth, Wind & Fire while Ben Harper sang hits from the Dave Matthews Band. It was a great time for everyone who came out. Partying hard at Chocolate City in Homewood.

This week I visited the S Bar on the South Side of Pittsburgh, Southside 86 on the South Side of Pittsburgh, Krobar in the Strip District, Mr. Kenny’s in the Hill District and CJ’s in the Strip District. My first stop was at the S-Bar where everyone came out from all over the city to get their party on. My second stop was at the Southside 86, which is Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward’s new bar, and it is off the chain. You have to come out and check this place out. R&B diva Monica hanging out at Krobar in the Strip District to meet and greet with her fans.

This week I visited a new hot spot called Pharaoh in the Strip District, CJ’s in the Strip District, Matrix in Station Square and Krobar in the Strip District. My first stop was at Krobar in the Strip District where DJ GQ and Mike Dean held an event called Polo and Pumps, featuring the hottest ladies in the city of Pittsburgh. My next stop was at the new hot called Pharaoh in the Strip District where Royal Tribe and Wyld Chyld Entertainment came together for a great event. You definitely need to come out and check it out because it’s off the chain. Kickin’ it at the new hot spot called Pharaoh in the Strip District.
