This week I visited Wesley Center A.M.E. Zion Church in the Hill District, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Mitchell’s Bar in Oakland, Shadow Lounge in East Liberty and the Black Beauty Lounge in the Hill District. The ladies came out to celebrate Pitt’s Homecoming at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty.
This week I visited the North Side Elks Lodge in the Hill District, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District, CJ’s in the Strip District and the African American Heritage Day Parade in Downtown Pittsburgh. Dwayne and Michelle Williams had a blast at CJ’s in the Strip District.
This week I visited the African American Music Institute of Pittsburgh in Homewood, St. Benedict the Moor Church Hall in the Hill District, Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District and Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District. Aunt Brenda celebrated her birthday in grand style with her son “D.C.” at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District.
This week I visited Kelly’s Bar in East Liberty, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Shadow Lounge in East Liberty and the North Side Elks Lodge in the Hill District. My first stop was at Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, where Gwenny Starr celebrated her birthday with family and friends. Birthday man Stephan Broadus, of the New Pittsburgh Courier, and the gang at Kelly’s Bar in East Liberty. My next stop was at the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty, where my boy Mike held a reggae event and it was off the chain. Everyone came out to listen to great music and get their party on.
This week I visited the Flamingo Bar in the Hill District, CJ’s in the Strip District, Galaxy Lounge in Homewood, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District and Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District. My first stop was at the Flamingo Bar in the Hill District where DJ Bubblegum was doing his thing on the 1’s and 2’s for the crowd. Marisa Bartley of the Urban League and Rev. Glenn Grayson at the Watch Party and Fundraiser” held at Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District. Congratulations to the Grayson Family for winning on the Family Feud.
This week I visited West Park on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Kennard Field in the Hill District, Ammon’s Recreational Center in the Hill District and Tim’s Bar in the Hill District. State Rep. Jake Wheatley, of the 19th District, and Renee Aldridge at the 10th Annual Community Appreciation Day held at Kennard Field in the Hill District.
This week I visited Kennard Field in the Hill District, Stacey Barnett-Germany’s Birthday Bash in the Hill District, Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District and Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, CJ’s in the Strip District. My first stop was at Stacey Barnett-Germany’s Birthday Bash in the Hill District where everyone came out to celebrate her big day in more ways than one. It was also her and husband’s wedding anniversary, so congratulations to you and Hank. Congratulations to Stacey and Hank Germany who have been married for five years and we wish you both many more to come.
This week I visited the Consol Energy Center in Uptown Pittsburgh, August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh, Tim’s Bar in the Hill District, Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood and Mitchell’s Bar in Oakland. ACH Clear Pathways and friends were holding it down at the “Women of Jazz” event held at the Consol Energy Center’s Lexus Club.
This week I visited the Comfort Inn Hotel Ballroom in Penn Hills, Galaxy Lounge in Homewood, CJ’s in the Strip District, Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District and Ava Lounge in East Liberty. My first stop was at the Comfort Inn Hotel in Penn Hills where the one and only Debbie Norrell celebrated her birthday in grand style with family and friends. DJ Nate the Phat Barber was on the 1’s and 2’s and there was also live entertainment and delicious food. Birthday man Pee Wee and Keisha hanging out at CJ’s in the Strip District. My next stop was at the Galaxy Lounge in Homewood where the owner “Big D” celebrated his birthday and it was off the chain. The whole city of Pittsburgh came out to help him with the big celebration and it was a great time for everyone.
This week I visited Ammons Recreational Center in the Hill District; the 8th Annual Arts in the Park at Point State Park, Downtown; Operation Better Block Inc. in Homewood,; Tim’s Bar in the Hill District; and the Shadow Lounge in East Liberty. Kahlil and Chanda representin’ at the celebration for the Junior Green Corps members at Operation Better Block Inc. in Homewood.
